Health insurance basics

Health insurance, in this modern world of cancer
heart disease, AIDS, diabetes, asthma, aging and
other diseases and conditions, it is essential
have some form of health insurance.

There are many levels of insurance coverage
available, unfortunately, like most things in life
you get what you pay, and good coverage can be
very expensive.

The two most common terms in reference to health
insurance are high quality, which is the amount paid by
insurance and deductible, which is its
out of pocket before the insurance pays your
provider.

For example, you could pay a premium of $ 300 per month
family coverage and your deductible might be $ 250 per
person, which means if she fell and broke his ankle
and went to the emergency room of a hospital, which
required to pay the first $ 250 of the law.

You can buy very basic catastrophic coverage,
that have a high deductible and
premium is less than comprehensive coverage
I would have a higher premium and lower
deductible.

It is worth investing the time to investigate different
insurance options, taking into account their age,
your overall health and the health of your family
members.

Your employer may offer health insurance, which
most likely the least expensive option for you, and
usually the premium is deducted from your paycheck.

Health insurance is a calculated risk you can afford
premiums or is willing to risk it
pay less out of pocket medical expenses in a year
that premiums would cost? Consider carefully.

Health Savings Accounts

If you are considering changing your health insurance
policy, you should be aware of the alternative of a
Health Savings Account (HCA).

Health Savings Accounts started to become available
(and legal) in 2004, allowing people with
high-deductible insurance policies to set aside
tax-free money to fund medical expenses up to the
maximum deductible amount.

If you don’t have to use the funds, it rolls over
every year. Once you reach age 65, you no longer are
required to use it for medical expenses, although you
certainly can; you can withdraw funds under the same
conditions as a regular IRA.

Although you will be penalized if you use the funds
for non-medical expenses prior to age 65, you can use
the money for vision care, alternative medicine or
treatment and dental care.

For 2008, an individual may fund up to $2,900 tax
free. The maximum deductible would be $1100 and the
maximum out-of-pocket cost would be $5,600.

For a family, the maximum tax-free contribution is
$5,800 with the maximum deductible of $2,200 and the
maximum out-of-pocket cost would be $11,200.

Health Savings Accounts are certainly a viable way to
shelter income while providing catastrophic insurance
coverage in light of the high cost of low-deductible
health insurance plans.

For healthy people, it deserves some research. Consult
with your insurance agent for all of the details
involving this approach to managing your insurance
needs.

The Basics of insurance

Health insurance, in this modern world of cancer,
heart disease, AIDS, diabetes, asthma, ageing and
other diseases and afflictions, it is essential to
have some sort of health insurance.

There are many levels of health insurance coverage
available; unfortunately, like most things in life,
you get what you pay for, and good coverage can be
very expensive.

The two most common terms in referring to health
insurance are premium, which is the amount paid for
the insurance, and deductible, which is your
out-of-pocket expense before the insurance pays your
provider.

For instance, you might pay $300 premium per month for
family coverage, and your deductible might be $250 per
person, which means if you fell and broke your ankle
and went to the hospital emergency room, you would be
required to pay the first $250 of the bill.

You can purchase very basic catastrophic coverage,
which would carry a very high deductible and the
premium would be less than comprehensive coverage
which would have a higher premium and lower
deductible.

It pays to invest the time to investigate various
insurance options, taking into consideration your age,
your general health and the health of your family
members.

Your employer may offer group health insurance, which
is most likely the least expensive option for you, and
usually the premium is deducted from your paycheck.

Health insurance is a calculated risk; can you afford
the premiums or are you willing to risk that you would
pay less out of pocket for medical expenses in a year
than the premiums would cost? Consider carefully.

Miracle Cup: The Health Benefits of Green Tea

How do you fit a miracle in a cup?

For 4,000 years, the Chinese people have been using green tea as treatment for everything from headaches to depression.

Today, studies are conducted in Asia and the west in order to produce hard evidence of the health benefits of green tea. In the 1994 edition of the Journal of National Cancer Institute, the results of an epidemiological study stated that one of the health benefits of drinking green tea is that it can reduce the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by up to 60%.

The rich presence of catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is the reason why green tea has so much health benefits. A powerful antioxidant, EGCG can not only inhibit the growth of cancer cells but can also destroy them without harming healthy cells.

The University of Purdue has also concluded a research on how a certain compound present in green tea can stop cancer cells from growing. Still another health benefit of green tea is its ability to lower down cholesterol levels and improve the ratio between good (HDL) cholesterol and bad (LDL) cholesterol.

The EGCG in green tea is a health benefit substance that can lower down LDL cholesterol levels and stop blood from forming abnormal clots (thrombosis), a leading cause of heart attacks and strokes.

Green tea has more health benefits compared to other Chinese teas like oolong and black tea, all of which come from the plant Camellia sinensis. What makes green tea different is the process by which it is made. Green tea owes much of its health benefits to how the Camellia sinensis leaves are steamed. The steam process keeps the EGCG health benefit of green tea from oxidizing. With oolong and black teas, however, the leaves are fermented instead of being steamed, thus causing the EGCG health benefit to transform into another less medicinally potent form.

Aside from medicinal value, green tea can also offer other health benefits, especially in the fitness field. Drinking green tea can cause a person to burn down more calories. A recent study on the health benefits of green tea shows that the drink can help dieters. According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutritionin 1999, men who take both caffeine and green tea burn down more calories than men who only take caffeine or a placebo.

Another health benefit of green tea is its bacteria-destroying properties. The health benefit of green tea in this area is that it can help prevent food poisoning and also prevent tooth decay. The substances found in green tea kill the bacteria causing food poisoning and those that cause dental plaque to form.

Well known for its countless medicinal and health benefits, green tea is nothing short of a miracle.

The Colour Red and its affect on you

The Colour Red and its affect on you
Colour
Our sight is our primary interaction with the world around us and most of us take it for granted. We rarely stop to think about colour means to us and how it can affect us. Light is a form of energy and all energy acts on the matter that it comes into contact with. What we see as colour is the brain’s way of recognizing the different energy qualities of light.
We tend to think of colour as existing on surfaces, but the colour of an object is determined by what happens to the light that hits it. The colour we see, very often, is exactly what the object is not.
Every frequency of visible light, each colour, creates changes in us at all levels, physically, emotionally and mentally. Different cultures have given different attributes and meanings to colour, but on a biological level we all react in the same way.
Colour is not superficial; it shows us the energetic reality around us.
Everything under the sun is affected by colour. Plants, animals, bacteria, chemical reactions, all show changes of behaviour when exposed to different colours. It is also a subconscious language that we use instinctively in very area of our lives.
Learning to recognise and use colour with awareness can bring positive changes into our lives. Each colour has a set of clearly defined meanings and influences which can help us understand the world around us and our behaviour.
These qualities can also be used to create particular impressions on others. A subtle message can be sent with colour much more effectively than with words.
RED
Red is the colour with the longest wavelength. It is the nearest visible light to infra-red in the electromagnetic (energy) spectrum. It maintains close connections with heat and warmth. Even rocks become red when they are heated sufficiently – this is evident when volcanoes erupt and lava pours out onto the earth’s surface. Red makes us wary as we connect it with heat and potential danger of burning.
Too much heat and red burns, but at the right level it gives us comfort and supports our lives. Being the colour of blood, red has symbolic links with life and living. Spilling or losing blood brings illness or death.
If you want to increase your body’s ability to absorb iron wear red, eat red foods or surround yourself with red. This is because iron is the metal that is responsible for the colour of haemoglobin in the blood. The presence of haemoglobin allows the blood to absorb oxygen in the lungs and to transport that life-giving oxygen to the body’s cells.
Physical activity and the energy that supports it also have a red vibration. If speed, danger, daring or courage are involved the red quality of the activity increases – people like stunt men, racing car drivers or mountaineers all have “red” careers.
Using Red
If you want to come across as a bold and dynamic person, wear a red scarf or a tie. This is especially effective if you are going to an event where your confidence needs a boost e.g. a presentation or an interview. It will also help you feel less nervous about meeting new people.
Your health and red
Red is a very powerful colour and should be avoided if you suffer from high blood pressure, heart problems, have a quick temper or are feeling angry as it will over-stimulate you. It is good for the following: Low energy, Apathy, Anaemia, Depression, Poor Circulation, Fear, Low blood pressure, Lack of confidence, Colds/chills, Lack of initiative.
Top Tip from Reiki Healing Spain. Put red in your life when there is…. • A lack of enthusiasm and interest in life • A lack of energy and a feeling of over-tiredness • An inability to make your dreams a practical reality • A feeling of insecurity, unwarranted fear or anxiety
