new approaches to the habits of Scotland 's drinking should be adopted today, Dumbarton MSP Jackie Baillie said last week.
Ms. Baillie welcomed the Liquor Commission of the final report as a contribution to stimulating debate and radically about how to reduce the level of alcohol abuse.
The board of the Alcohol rejected proposals from the SNP "for a minimum unit price, arguing that action must be taken in the United Kingdom with the requirement that the main lever to raise prices.
The report makes a series of other recommendations to amend the Scotland of the hard drinking culture.
These include the Scottish Parliament and other government agencies, provide leadership in not serving alcohol at functions, and a statutory limit on the level of caffeine in alcoholic drinks 150 mg per liter.
Ms Baillie, Scottish secretary of the shadow of Health, said: "I think the amendment of Scotland of the hard drinking culture is a national priority.
"Some of these recommendations, such as the call for the end of sports sponsorship by alcohol producers, may not be practical in the short term.
"However, I am sure the report will spark a serious debate across the United Kingdom on the place of alcohol in our society."
